Fire Cupping Therapy (Myofascial Release)

Increase circulation by improving Qi flow to release constraint and toxins

Fire being placed into a cup prior to application on skin

Practitioners apply fire cupping, a method of therapy within Traditional Chinese Medicine and Massage Therapy, by using glass cups to create a vacuum on the patient's skin. The suction and movement of cups on the skin, mobilizes blood and lymph flow below. Cupping is a myofacial release technique that promotes healing, reduces pain, and can helps release harmful toxins. The therapy triggers the lymphatic system, clears the blood vessels and activates the skin, helping to increase circulation in the body, thereby improving Qi flow to relax the body and to release constraint. Fire cupping is primarily performed on the back and neck and other parts of the body.

Fire cupping is painless, yet results in reddish circles called ecchymosis or bruising. For more information on what to expect following fire cupping therapy, please contact us.
