Practitioners apply fire cupping, a method of therapy within Traditional Chinese Medicine and Massage Therapy, by using glass cups to create a localized pressure (acupressure) and creating a vacuum on the patient's skin.  Fire cupping is primarily performed on the back and neck and other parts of the body.  The suction of the cups mobilizes blood and lymph flow in order to promote healing and reduce pain to specific areas of the body and can help release harmful toxins.  The therapy triggers the lymphatic system, clears the blood vessels and activates the skin, helping to increase circulation in the body, thereby improving Qi flow to relax the body and to release constraint.
