Acupuncture

Experience healing through gentle and effective acupuncture treatments.

Woman receiving acupuncture treatment with fine needles placed into her forehead, sternum and abdominal area.

Acupuncture is the painless placement of fine, sterile needles into specific areas of the body in order to activate the body’s internal energy system or Qi. Acupuncture works by regulating the movement of Qi. In activating Qi, the body’s own recuperative power is stimulated — promoting natural healing for a wide variety of medical problems.

Our goal is to bring your body back into homeostasis. Our acupuncture treatments improve microcirculation, regulate immunity, respiration, temperature, pressure, hormonal secretion and sensitivity, neuromuscular coordination, and the manufacture of blood cells.

What to Expect

Traditional Chinese Medicine treats the body as a whole; we will consider all of the body’s processes, both emotional and physical. Your first visit will take about 1.5 - 2 hours and will include a complete assessment of your health and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to imbalances in your body. Your practitioner will take a look at your tongue and take pulses on both wrists. All of this information will paint a picture of your condition and constitution to help formulate a personalized diagnosis and treatment plan. Follow up visits are approximately 1 - 1.5 hours depending on your treatment plan.

The placement of the fine needles is painless and does not leave any markings on the skin.

“I had never had acupuncture done before, and I'm happy to have had my first experience at Golden Folk Wellness. I knew what was happening every step of the way, which let my high strung personality relax and feel at ease. Definitely will be going back.”
